Williamsville, New York – Picone Construction continues renovations at The Amberleigh in Williamsville. Renovations include the conversion of existing space to 49 assisted living residential units on the second and third floors, along with 16 memory care units on the first floor. A new entry will be constructed, which includes a free standing porte-cochere and asphalt drop-off drive. The entry and first floor will include a reception area, waiting/lounge area, offices, conference room, new elevator, salon, activity room, dining room, craft room, private dining rooms, toilet rooms, staff lounge, laundry room, storage rooms, and secured fenced in courtyard. The second and third floor common areas will include offices, toilet rooms, laundry rooms, living rooms, and storage rooms. Each of the three floors will include a nurse’s station with a hydrotherapy room. Work includes: selective demolition; concrete flatwork; masonry; millwork; insulation; metal composite panels and metal siding (ribbed metal siding panel); roofing; firestopping; caulking; doors and hardware; aluminum storefront/curtain wall systems and glazing; carpentry and acoustics; ceramic tile; carpet and vinyl composition tile; painting; plumbing; HVAC; electrical; toilet accessories, fire extinguishers, cabinets, window treatments and mirrors. Kenmore, New York – Picone Construction Corp. continues Kenmore Mercy Hospital’s next phase of renovations which includes their surgery holding and recovery unit. The work includes approximately 15,000 sq ft of build-out for the new 32-bed Ambulatory Surgery Unit. Build-out consists of new gypsum wall board partitions, finishes, casework, medical headwall systems, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, HVAC and medical gas systems, and installation of owner-furnished items. Additional work will be done to the Sterile Processing Department and the Radiology Department. The Architect of Record is Kideney Architects. October 19, 2015

West Amherst, New York – Picone Construction has completed renovations to the Northwoods Medical Center located at 3950 East Robinson Rd, West Amherst. Two first floor restroom renovations included: select demolition, ceramic tile, painting, drywall patching, toilet accessories, millwork, and plumbing. The architect for this project was Silvestri Architects.

Buffalo, New York – Picone Construction continues work on the development at 301 Ohio St. in Buffalo. The 4.5 million, 52,000 sq ft five story mixed-use building will house two restaurants, 10,000 sq ft of commercial space, and 21 one and two-bedroom apartments. Units will also include balconies overlooking the Buffalo River. The building, designed by Chaintreuil, Jenson, Stark Architects will include a façade of concrete paneling and Corten weather steel cladding. Completion of this project is scheduled for 2016. As Project Manager, Jim brings with him over 30 years of experience in the construction industry having recently emigrated from the UK, where he had worked on many high profile residential, commercial, health and educational projects in and around the London region. Yorkshire, New York – In anticipation of the new school year, Picone Construction Corp. advances on another phase of Pioneer Central School’s Capital Project. After demolition, renovations, and an addition, the Performing Arts Wing for Pioneer High School boasts a new large group instruction space accented with clouds (acoustical diffusers) and sound absorbing fabric panels for greater acoustic harmony; individual lesson rooms; instrument and clothing storage; tuba cleaning sink; dedicated music theory classroom; and changing rooms. Additional construction includes: Board of Education room; event restroom facilities; agriculture barn shelter and storage addition; floor and dust collection system replacement in the wood shop; auditorium house lights, sound board and stage rigging upgrades; concrete and drainage work at the student drop-off zone; building-wide HVAC and electrical systems; and new athletic stadium scoreboard at the football field.
