Jamestown Gateway Station
Brick by Brick Award Winner for Best Historic Restoration
AIA Buffalo / WNY Design Excellence Honor Award for Historic Preservation
Jamestown, New York
Owner: City of Jamestown
Architect: Wendel Duchscherer Architects and Engineers
This 32,000 square foot facility had laid in an abandoned state for some time. Along with other buildings in the area, it had undergone extensive renovations as part of an adaptive reuse initiative by the City of Jamestown. The exterior was transformed back to its original Art Deco glory while the interior was completely redesigned for its new functions. Careful consideration was taken to incorporate as much of the original interior components as possible.
