---

1904: Charles Picone comes to the United States from his hometown of Campobello, Italy in search of a better life for himself and his family. He would soon start work for the John W. Cowper Company as a mason.

1929: Charles selected to be the masonry foreman for John W. Cowper during Buffalo's City Hall construction. The building would be dedicated in 1931.

1931: After completing Buffalo City Hall, Charles Picone makes the decision to start his own company. Picone Construction is born.

1934: Charles joined by brother Anthony F. Picone in running Picone Construction. Anthony stayed with the company until his retirement in 1977 at the age of 63.

1953: Saint Joachim's Parish is built. It is one of many churches built by Picone Construction.

1956: Picone Construction celebrates 25th Anniversary

1961: Buffalo Public School #8 is built, and is one of many schools built by Picone Construction.

1965: Anthony F. Picone’s son, Anthony J. Picone joins Picone Construction as a Construction Foreman. In 1977 he would be named as President of the company, a position he still holds to this day.

1966: Maislin Brothers Transport Facility construction begins. It is the biggest project to date and Anthony J. Picone’s first project he oversaw. Construction of the 15,000 square foot facility would cost over $10,000,000 today.

1971: SUCF Infirmary Building built in Buffalo. It is one of many medical projects built by Picone Construction.

1976: Orchard Park Elementary School is built. It is one of the biggest projects built by Picone Construction at this time.

1981: Picone Construction celebrates 50th Anniversary

1985: New York Army National Guard facility built in Niagara Falls, NY. The facility was strong enough to withstand a seismic blast.

1991: Anthony J.’s oldest son, Anthony C. Picone joins Picone Construction. Today Anthony acts as the Vice President and General Superintendent and oversees all field operations.

1993: Interior renovations are performed at Roswell Park's 7th floor unit. It would be one of many projects performed for RPCI.

1995: Anthony J. Picone's youngest son, Christopher, joins Picone Construction's office staff. Today he serves as Vice President and Director of Operations overseeing all office functions.

1999 - Picone Construction begins work on the Hamburg Post Office. It is one of the last large Post Offices to be built due to the rise of the internet and email communication.

1999 - John Burkhardt joins Picone Construction. John would go on to become Vice President and Senior Project Manager.

2005 - Swan Auditorium built at Hilbert College. It is one of many projects Picone completes for Hilbert College.

2006 - Gary Grimmer joins Picone Construction. Gary would go on to be named Vice President and Chief Estimator.

2006: Picone Construction celebrates 75th Anniversary

2008 - Picone Construction completes multiple prime contracts at the Darwin Martin Visitor Center. Picone Construction has also completed several historic renovations on the Darwin Martin House campus.

2010 - Picone Construction completes multiple large projects for Goya Foods.

2015 - Our construction of the 301 lofts on Ohio Street in Buffalo is one of the most recognizable projects performed by Picone.

2017 - The construction and interior fit-out of Whole Foods Market is one of our biggest and most well-known projects throughout WNY.

2018 - Carmax of Buffalo is built, one of two Carmax projects performed by Picone. The other is in Rochester, NY.

2019: Picone Construction begins renovations for Roswell Park Cancer Institute's IMCU. One of the most recent of Picone's work in the medical field took place during the COVID-19 pandemic and was written about by ConstrucTech magazine.

2021 - Picone Construction celebrates their 90th anniversary.
