Buffalo, New York – Picone Construction Corp. continues work on renovations to The Parish Commons located at 656 Elmwood Avenue, Buffalo New York. Renovations included minor demolition, carpentry, drywall, insulation, painting, wood framing, and installation of wood flooring and new stairs. April 15, 2014
Kenmore, New York – Picone Construction has completed the replacement of Kenmore Mercy Hospital’s cooling towers located at 2950 Elmwood Ave., Kenmore NY. The project consisted of demolition and replacement of existing cooling towers with three new cooling towers. Installed on a new structural steel framing system over existing concrete piers. Work also included all rework and extension of existing mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems as required for installation of the cooling tower units as well as demolition, removal and replacement of existing support steel and maintenance platform. This was an owner occupied site during all phases of construction. The architect for this project was Kideney Architects, PC. April 9, 2014
Buffalo, New York – Picone Construction has begun interior renovations to the Leonardo Da Vinci High School located at 320 Porter Avenue, Buffalo New York. Improvements to Madonna Hall and Koessler Administration Building include demolition and abatement, carpentry, millwork, doors and frames, hardware, drywall, painting, vinyl composition tile, carpet, electric, restroom accessories, and new lockers. Niagara Falls, New York – Picone Construction continues to advance on the new construction of a $10.2 million Wingate by Wyndham Hotel located at 333 Rainbow Boulevard, Niagara Falls, New York. The hotel will consist of approximately 100,000 sq ft, four-story, 110-room hotel with retail and restaurant space. The project is expected to be completed late spring of next year. Cheektowaga, New York – Picone Construction Corp. has begun work on a 6,020 sq. ft. Carquest Auto Parts Store located at 6370 Transit Road, Cheektowaga, NY. The project consists of site development and erection of a new Pre-Engineered Metal Building with colored split face block veneer exterior. This new retail location, scheduled to open in spring of 2014, will replace the current Carquest Auto Parts Store located further down Transit Rd. January 28, 2014
Amherst, New York – Picone Construction’s renovation of 2,500 sq ft of space at the University at Buffalo’s Commons is complete. The remodeled area houses Kung Fu Tea, a bubble tea bistro. Gowanda, New York – Picone Construction Corp. was prime contractor in the completion of the 5,000 sq ft addition to Gowanda Medical Center located at 34 Commercial Street in Gowanda. This expansion was created to accommodate a new waiting/reception area, nurse’s station, six exam rooms, mammography room, ultrasound room, office space, and a physical therapy/cardiac rehabilitation room. Picone Construction was responsible for the installation of wood framing, Pella Windows, Hardie Board Siding, shingle roof, and spray insulation. In addition, the interior work consisted of a concrete slab with Barrier One additive, metal stud walls, drywall, painting, acoustical ceiling tiles, millwork, trim, doors, flooring, and toilet accessories. Christopher Picone received the 15 year Citation of Service Award from the CSI Buffalo Chapter for his notable contributions to the construction industry in Buffalo and Western New York. Hosted by the Construction Specifications Institute’s Local Chapter, awards were presented to those whose talents, achievements, and contributions benefit the local construction community.

Buffalo, New York – Picone Construction Corp. has begun work on Sacred Heart Academy’s new 14,000 sq ft gymnasium. The gymnasium will sit to the rear of the existing school and will consist of a 9,500 sq ft pre-engineered building and a 4,500 sq ft conventional steel framed masonry building. The gymnasium will have seating for approximately 500 people and the conventional building will have locker rooms, storage, a snack area, fitness room, dance studio, and offices. The façade of the gymnasium will be brick with composite panels and storefront.

Picone Construction recently attended the Business First of Buffalo “Brick by Brick” awards event. The event honors the “Best of the Best” projects throughout Western New York in real estate, construction, and development. This year Picone had the honor of being a finalist for three projects. Picone won the Best Historic Restoration Award for the Jamestown Gateway Station project. Picone was a finalist for the Best Multi-Residential Award with two projects: Clement Hall at SUNY Buffalo and Jamestown Community College Student Housing. -read entire article May 28, 2013
